    Diploma in General nursing

    I was one of the last students to do the old 3-year diploma at B.G. Alexander which is now closed. I trained at the Johannesburg Hospital, now Charlotte Maxeke hospital. I worked as a company clinic sister for 3 years, practising community nursing (examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients). I taught nursing for a number of years as a clinical facilitator. I worked in a busy Emergency Department as a shift leader for 3 years and as a night supervisor for 1 year. I currently work part-time for an Orthopedic Surgeon specialising in sports injuries.

    I completed both my Basic Life Support and Intermediate Lifes Support certificates at H.E.L.P. I then went on to work for the college and teach CPR and First Aid.

    I worked first as his practice nurse and phlebotomist, I then went on to work for him running a company clinic at a company with over 1000 employees. I left the day before my son was born. I wanted to be a stay at home mom.

    I taught clinical skills to care-workers, first and second-year nursing students. I helped with clinical examinations for all students from the first to the fourth year. During that time I presented lectures using PowerPoint, as well as setting exams using outcomes-based education principals. I taught classes of up to 70 students. I did clinical assessments with students in the ward. I scheduled students duty times and leave, dealing with all student HR-related queries. I left due to a conflict of Ethics

    I worked in the Emergency Department, doing Triage, and as a shift leader in charge of a team of 8 nurses and registered nurses. Record keeping and stock ordering.

    As a night supervisor, I was in charge of the Hospital, wards and staff, as well as the patient liaison. This involved ward rounds, speaking to patients, problem-solving and ward admission.

    Kashering Your Life is my own blog and fledgeling company. It is a side hustle for the moment. I write articles on household budgeting, household organisation and meal planning specifically for the South African market. I have written for People Magazine (Sept 2016), Jewish Life Magazine, July 2018, May 2019 and July 2020. I co-host a communal radio show about cooking on Chaifm 101.9, I present workshops and give public talks on the topics of my blog.
